+ Cancel/reschedule or Running Late

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please do so via the confirmation link, or conatct me via email info@scienceofchocolate.com or text/Whatsapp at 236-886-7541

You have a 30 minute window to drop by, so no need to be right on time! But if you're running quite late, no problem, just let me know.

I don't accept no-shows. If you don't show up and don't let me know ahead of time, you will not be able to book a visit again in the future.

+ How many people can visit?

It's a small space suitable for 1-5 people.

+ How much do chocolate bars cost?

The bars range from around $11 to $18 and some more. There is also a range of drinking chocolate and drinking chocolate accessories.

+ Why do I need to book an appointment?

SOC does not have a retail shop or cafe at the moment.

SOC revolves around events, classes, and the online shop. This is simply a space you can visit for an in-person experience to the online shop when I'm not busy with events.

+ Can I just drop by or book same-day visits?

Unfortunately I likely will not be available if you don't book ahead.

+ How long can I stay?

No set time, but generally people stay for 15-30 minutes to browse, ask questions, and purchase bars.

+ Do you serve drinks/food?

No, but I do offer some tea and you can try samples of cocoa beans and some of the chocolate available for sale.

+ Can you tell me more about the chocolate?

The bars here are made from artisan craft chocolate makers from Canada and around the world, using cacao from around the world.

Makers use fine flavour cacao only from ethical and transparent sources. These brands are not Fairtrade certified, which is a good thing, as they go beyond the standards of Fairtrade. Many buy direct from cacao farmers as well.

Ingredients are real, simple, and clean. The bars sold here are just as nutritous, if not more nutritious, than health-food store chocolate (and higher quality).

Majority of chocolate bars and products are:

  • Vegan/dairy-free
  • Gluten-free
  • Nut-free

Keep in mind not all bars are made in gluten-free and nut-free facilities, so may contain traces. I do have a few brands that do have a nut/gluten-free facility.

Some sugar-free dark and milk chocolate (meaning unsweetened) available.

+ What form of payments do you accept?

At the moment I accept most major credit cards, debit, apple pay, etc. I don't often have any change for cash purchases.

+ Do I need to tip when I purchase here?

No, there's no tipping for purchasing products in person. If you wish to tip, just purchase more chocolate!

+ What if I just wish to quickly purchase bars

You're welcome to come and purchase what you need right away. However, if this is the case I also recommend the online shop and having it shipped to your door! I ship across Canada, USA, and many other countries as well such as in Europe, Australia, UEA, and more.
